Hey Friends in this post I am giving you a traditional South Indian Recipe. I have given just some twist and turn to make it a healthier version. Today I am going to do Pachama Podi Upma, which is usually made up by Rice flour. But you know this recipe is many people’s favorite and we use to have as evening snacks with coffee.
But to many of us Pachama Podi upma made with rice flour gives a major problem which is next day stomach problems. But I just found that this recipe if made with Ragi flour comes out the same as rice flour Upma and It will be little extra healthy too.
I have done other Recipe with Ragi flour too which is also a rich source of fiber and helps lower cholesterol level and Ragi is best food for weight control, diabetes and a cooling the body.
Let me start how to do Ragi Pachama Podi Upma.
Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins
Ragi powder- 1 cup
Red Chilli Powder-1 tbsp
Salt as per required
asafoetida a pinch
Olive oil- 1/4 cup
tamarind water- 1 cup
Olive Oil- ½ tbsp
curry leaves-6-7 leaves
mustard seeds-1 tsp
Take a bowl and add all dry ingredients.
Mix well and add all wet ingredients to it.
Mix well with a wisker.
The batter must be in thick consistency like Idli batter.
How to make upma:
Heat a pan and add oil
Once oil is heat add mustard and curry leaves
When it splutters add the batter to it and mix well.
It will get clumpy don’t worry.
Mix well and close the pan with the lid.
Cook for 15 mins in a medium flame.
Open the lid once in 5 mins and mix the upma to get cooked in all sides.
